Because I'm all about sharing my unsolicited opinions and I'm quite fond of a lot of junk, I thought I'd share my opinions on some of the stuff I regularly carry.
In this post, I'll discuss the Tool Logic Pro SL 2. What is that? Well, it's a multi-functional little thing. It's:
* A knife (as you can see)
* A whistle (in the base of the handle)
* A flashlight (the little tube thing... very bright, actually)
* A fire starter.
So that last bit could use some clarification. The pics don't show it, but you can pull the tube with the flashlight out. On the other end there's a metal extension of "Swedish Firesteel". If you strike it against steel (convenient that the knife happens to be steel...)it makes a spark to light kindling.
I'm no outdoorsman. I would be dead in an hour if I were dropped in the woods, even with this thing, but at least I could start a fire (which would probably be what kills me, but I digress).
This is the newer SL 2 model. As I mentioned in a prior post, I'd managed to break the non-working firesteel in my last model. I contacted Tool Logic for a replacement part to purchase and they just up and shipped me a brand knew knife for free. That was surprising and awesome. And the whistle works better on the new one! The only stipulation was that they asked me to ship the old one back in an envelope they provided.
And so I returned the knife. I feel a twinge from that. It was a good knife and I do get sentimentally-attached to my stuff. Still, it was a fair price to pay.
