And, lo! The halfway point arrived

And upon the Wednesday, there was much rejoicing as the Friday approacheth.

Is "approacheth" even a word?

[FLIP!]

Apparently this is the last dry day for a while. Welcome and much-needed rain is forecast for as early as tomorrow afternoon. It's foggy as all hell this morning giving my bike ride in a decidedly spooky Halloween flavor.

There must be something in the air because I passed no less than seven police patrol cars. Not all at once. No, I saw seven over the entire course of my bike ride in.

And I don't object one bit. Glad they're out. Makes the ride slightly less-creepy.

I was bitter this morning to discover that last night's "Fringe" was a repeat. *sigh*

Oh well.

[FLIP!]

It's supposed to be quite the downpour this weekend, if the forecast is to be believed. Figures it's the day of Jen and Erik's party.

"We have met the anemone... and he is Russ." ("Russell, actually")

Yesterday's Moment of Supreme Irony:
From SFGate.com

[Snip] "What we're trying to do is get banks to do what they are supposed to do, which is support the system that we have in America. And banks exist to lend money," White House press secretary Dana Perino said. While there are limits to Washington's power to affect banks' behavior, the White House decided it was time to use its bully pulpit. [/Snip]

[Snip] There is little federal officials can do about it. There is no language in the bailout bill that specifically obligates banks receiving money to increase their loans. Officials had argued that attaching strings to the capital-infusion program would discourage financial institutions from participating. [/Snip]
