Through the Looking Glass

I was chatting with one of my friends today and we got on the topic of a time when I gave my friend Erik a sword for his birthday.

(I've actually participated in sword-gifting to him more than once, but I opted not to bring that up in the conversation)

Like most "normal" people, my friend found the choice of said gift a little odd.

For reasons that I can only describe as a "brain fart", I then shared a snippet of my time with the SCA.

To her credit, she didn't seem overtly terrified, but I did get a pretty good sense of how "normal" people would view some of my past interests.

Always worth a chuckle, I guess.
